The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 叙事太杂乱无章了，有时空并行的线索，偏不把每个人交代清楚，全部要靠边看边猜。开始男主的巫师妈驱魔，然后来了个自杀。后面情节实际又是多年后，男主又进入一个废旧的房子去调查，有病行了几年前几个在这里探险的一女两男大学生，此处风格又像伪纪录片一样摇摇晃晃，好久开始在黑洞洞的房间里不断地循环，反正就是走不出那幢楼，没觉得有多恐怖，真是看得好累，还不如昆池岩那种片子。门上有个，打的符咒写着死者打不开此门，他们一直出不去，就说明他们死了呗。导演叙事的能力太差了
结局就那样嘛，看一群鬼在那里以为自己是人的角色扮演
好好一个可以炫机械技术的电影，硬是让无聊的爱情线占了一大半时间，一到爱情戏就忍不住大翻白眼！铁塔修建中的技术问题，财务问题，轻描淡写一带而过；非要强调爱情线，就请认真对待，结果也刻板印象加浮皮潦草，男主自己生了四个娃，完全不提孩儿们的妈，还一副痴心人设，对女主充满正义的愤怒！我真气得无力吐槽了！女主也是，面相野性，貌似桀骜不驯，结果一连两次都是屁也没放一个地撤退了！
emmmmm该怎么说呢。不喜欢这种结局，而且也没有告诉我为什么。我讨厌不告诉我原因！
挺好看，Roman Duris就是剧抛脸，十几年来看了不少他主演的法国电影了~ 不算很帅，但耐看，而且越看越charming~ Emma演得也不错，看到有人把她在该片的表现跟换头相提并论，也太侮辱人了。。。起码没有了在《Sex Education》里不讨喜的小动作，而且之前在新版《尼罗河上的惨案》表现也ok。最主要是法语说得很溜，英国人的小语种水平吊打美国人！
刚从铁塔回来就发现这部电影上映了。两个演员怎么可以这么没有化学反应…

这么弱都还敢独自去驱魔，高手这是高手啊，还有太多bug了根本很多细节都圆不了，譬如他妈妈撕掉的那一页究竟有啥用啊，还这么多镜头，不过有一说一，恐怖效果做得还是挺不错的，特别是那只女鬼，恐怖的阴影伴随着我两天

1889年法国工程师的浪漫与激情。泪目是因为想起了远方的谁……
镜头一直是在头部，基本没有全景，一直是背景虚化，看着头疼，建造塔的部分好看，爱情感觉线混乱，然后女儿的出现完全不知道是在干什么（没怎么讲啊。。。）。。。
感觉跟河正宇之前演的那部《衣橱》差不多的感觉，中规中矩的恐怖片，就一点点恐怖的样子。
题材是我喜欢的题材，卡司是我喜欢的卡司，但是电影拍得很水。
浪费了藤原龙也，土屋太凤，西野七濑啊。剧情简介描述的还有点悬念，这拍得是真的无聊。
单纯的鬼片，没有其他韩国恐怖片映射社会现实的深度，没意思。。。有啥看不懂的，无聊，好古老的剧情。。。包括时间线重叠，已死不知道自己死，吓人方式和剧情，起码是20年前的老模式
5.几的评分确实太低了，该影片氛围感拉爆，你总期待着男主和学生们能一齐找到出口出去，没想到所有人都死了。单纯的惊吓恐怖之余还有一些循环设定，相对废脑，更有趣。女鬼纯情面相真的很容易被理解成是乖巧可怜的受害者啊，没成想是大boss 。那句“你知道从哪里开始循环的吗”，互动感特别强烈！惊喜！题外话，韩国人的大嗓门和哗众取宠的发音方式真的有些做作，波浪声结尾
只是元素过多，导演有点把控不住，观影中开始出现混乱和晦涩。
