The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. emmmmmm，可能Lopez认为《marry me》拍一个几分钟的mv不足以表达自我，需要转而拍一个超长mv来推广单曲。
这个结尾我实在接受无能，四星给影片前半部分，寻焦的取景框，男主的红色Jeep，两人凭想象打网球，回忆和现实的穿插，通过影像交流这些都很棒 “what is wrong with stepping in front of the camera every once in a while?” “I believe a photographer should point her lens outward toward the world, so you can try and understand it.” “What about trying to understand yourself?”
一出音乐闹剧，真热闹，但主要还是“闹”。美国人乱搞真是搞出了新高度，乍看海报还有几分像印度片，但看内容也就只有美国特产了。歌还凑合，但在这部片子里也就是个“闹上添闹”的角色
年纪大了 其实偶尔看下剧情俗爆的电影也挺羡慕的
大失所望。作为圣诞剧，剧情cliché不是你的错，但是做到如此僵硬和甜度稀薄就是你的不对了。

看着这个组合就觉得这一定是喜剧，果然不出所望😂明星指着一个人，然后瞬间变成结婚对象？让人意外的是，最后男女主竟然真的在一起了，虽然是个非常开心的结局，但是有点让人觉得不够真实。电影可以改名为《霸道女总爱上我》，整体非常俗套，狗血，套路。但是并不影响观看，甚至觉得还有点好看，集合了爱情、喜剧、音乐三项元素为一身，主演之间竟然在二十五年前有过合作！情感把控和节奏掌控也尚可，可看！3.4/5

很普通轻松的romcom 闲得没事干随便看看
不需要带啥脑子看的都市童话故事，轻松下不错，歌也可以，Jlo阿姨好像还蛮偏爱这种题材，，，想起几年前的天后助理也差不多是这样
爱就要说出来，不要让自己在后悔和遗憾 当中度过余生,至关重要平行的爱情故事...
