The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 老版糖果人是都市传说的诞生和溯源，这部则是发展和传播，无论从故事还是展现从古至今的种族问题这一社会意义上来说本作都得依赖于老版才能够完整。导演很擅长利用镜子、投影和布局拓宽空间感，皮影戏形式也选择得不错。种族问题叙事由老版的纵向转向横向，有点用力过猛，对我而言失去了一些老版的生命力。部分角色表演有点生硬。

故事带有明显的种族议题，糖果人身上遗传着黑人对白人的恨意，但似乎需要有一定了解才能有所感触。

看个开心，歌好听。//拖着一瘸一拐的腿去看了「巨星嫁到」。这名字实在太「恨嫁」了，所以剧情出现bug时，我脑子里只有wtf？不过歌好听，实际上就是低配版的Notting Hill+Love Actually。有人说把Owen换成Hugh Grant就合理多了，我并不觉得啰。总之，好久没看轻喜剧了，值得。

被影院预告吸引，但种族复仇情绪太浓烈，更喜欢92版
但是，影片最大的缺点，就是故事本身，实在是……俗不可耐，就连结尾字幕的小动画也比正片的故事好看，三星半。
