The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 2021.06.06 我的眼泪不值钱！青春的friends与中年的friends画面交替，没人能够永远年轻，但用力活过才不遗憾。好了，我要重刷一遍了。
鬼知道我是怎么看完的，又哭又笑两个眼睛放大炮？
看着那些熟悉的片段还是会笑出眼泪，可看到主角们已经斑白的双鬓和发福的身材，却又忍不住心酸。感谢那些年他们的说笑打闹，让我熬过了生命中最艰难的时光。
好怀念啊，犹记得当年看的时候钱钱就是我的理想型，又想再看一遍了
都是情怀。原来17年会是这么久，看到六个人的时候还有大概的预期，但看到其他配角的变化更加感到时间的流逝。没想到Jen和David曾经互有好感，看Rachel和Ross的初吻更感动。结局已是最好，不用再来扰乱剧中人，不过希望华纳把拍摄花絮都放出来吧，不介意你们炒这个冷饭。
“人生中你的朋友就是你家人的那个阶段” 一击即中的伤感，还有老友之间默契的小动作，看他们重聚，感觉也像是见到了自己的老友，大家都不再那么年轻了。
满满的回忆，残忍的时间，有些看不够，感觉又要从第一季刷起来了

虽然最后风间拿到了炒面面包，但精华的炒面夹心还是被小新吃掉了。啊这个隐喻绝了。不要追求成为精英，人生无意义的那部分或许才最重要。

煽情什么的都做的很克制…看到他们几个再聚真的很感动！太过优秀的剧集了～应该很怀念他们那个时候的干劲儿吧？演员互飚演技，编剧绞尽脑汁想最搞笑的段子～现场观众的笑声就是最真实的反馈…新get到的知识点就是，原来他们笑声不是后面配的，而且现场同期声！太赞了吧！
我还以为是拍20年后的又一集，原来是综艺秀。
能看到他们这样彼此默默陪伴着、珍藏同一份记忆又不互相打扰地变老真是太好了。但是也不要更多了。
能感觉到演员们彼此并不是那么close的朋友，也并不像观众一样那么留恋过去那段时光。但仍然是很美好的呀，Friends就是美好的呀！
好想哭，好悲伤，这种亲密又疏离的感觉。其实大家都在努力的演戏，但每个喜欢老友记的观众和年轻时候的他们，都入了戏。 拜托，那可是老友记，我们永远喜欢老友记😭现在换我哭了。
菲比喊My Eyes那一段看得一边笑一边哭，这么多年了重现这段台词还是那么有感染力，大家都上了年纪，不再青春靓丽，但已经是永远的老友了，有什么关系呢，最美好的时光都会在彼此的心中永存😘
