The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 两个小时四十分钟的电影，却一点也不会让人觉得长，足以说明这部电影拍得有多好了。

丁若铨说服不了张昌大放下功名写鱼谱，就如同家居婶说服不了丁若铨接受安逸、不作为的流放生活一样。“子非鱼”是一个终极问题。
这种电影假设了一个绝对公正的法庭，实际上在很多地区都是不存在的。歌颂了一件个例，虽然也是进步，也难以扭转印度的复杂社会。此片意义大于电影本身，因为剧情并不好看，有些无趣，音效突兀。
好看到失语。比《思悼》的冲突温和些，感动之余仍然揪心。黑白影像的色调使片子增色不少。again，这个题材简直比《思悼》更应该是中国概念啊，就让人不懂为啥我们拍不出来
…拍得太模式化脸谱化了，社会性+足量的煽情+戏剧化。
我来说句大实话吧，这部电影的气质跟黑白色调一点都不搭
大概在3.5吧，因为叙事意图太明显，也脱不了韩国电影的用力。《绿洲》和《薄荷糖》之后，这里的薛景求真认不出，好演员的塑造角色的能力简直无穷。昌大是个讨喜的角色，演员一张“非池中物”的脸，是必须要离开渔民和庶子身份的证据之一。总体上剧本较弱，黑白影像的意义没有足够大，也不觉得营造了什么非黑白而不能的意境。
这也太强了吧！这辈子头一次看了三分之一就冲过来打五星了，宣发没到位吧！获奖太少了吧！（语无伦次中
小镇做题家：这都是人们不遵从马导师导致的。
读书人的困境：是秉承理想，还是同流合污？是为了小家，还是为了大家？黑暗但也有人性的光芒，风趣幽默，很有温度的一部电影。
虽然有浓浓的三哥电影特有的歌舞味 但这剧情背后的真人真厉害啊

师与徒，济世经学，儒家文化圈中的老故事
拍的比较中规中矩，剧作工整，岛上的美景不错。但也因为这种直白，基本没有什么影像的韵味。
知道导演想要什么味道，可是很遗憾差了点那味道。理想，仕途，抱负，终归不是那么容易的，归隐田园，著书立说，心系苍生，可有。家徒四壁，勤学苦读，宦海浮沉亦不失。
