The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 母亲的演员演得极好，在面临生活变迁时流露出来的细腻情感，脆弱，坚强，对待孩子的三观正直都令人动容。“你给他们准备了花园，可是在贝尔法斯特他们可以在街上玩儿，所有人都爱他们照顾他们，而当我们漂洋过海，别人会看不起我们甚至嘲笑我们的口音。”肯尼思导演不忘用一个特写镜头告诉我们他爱阿加莎，对，东方快车和尼罗河我翻拍了，他是典型的要圆梦的导演。片子成色不算太好但是每一个曾经漂洋过海的人都能懂。
陪娃看。是部积极且正能量的电影。画面切换太快，我的眼睛有点跟不上！

又是一部颁奖季热门，但是还是觉得没有达到预期，故事不是很生动，角色也没有什么刻画。
从黑白到彩色，从彩色到黑白；人们走走停停，生死迁移。城市，却永远驻留这里；怀念好的，也铭记坏的。与《罗马》同根同源的“个人史”，人性美成长教育再到表演交锋…示范高分作文怎么写的意识虽规整，但也在方向选择上略微陈腐。好在Jude Hil的表演才是给电影带来新鲜东西的关键，从首幕开始，任凭共演有多少成熟经验的演员或早已封神的国宝，都移不开对他的关注。
看得出导演真情流露，但电影确实精致到难看的程度。

跟《罗马》具有同样的观感，依然无法共情，不停的放歌也没用。良心的是，没墨迹两个多小时。类似的宗教争议，应该是中国几百年前的历史，没想到，现代西方世界仍然在重复悲剧。6.4
彩色的电影印象，黑白的回忆点滴，杂乱不章，风格杂糅，上一秒还恣情欢笑，下一秒就悲伤难捱，回不去的故乡与回不去的童年。第一次在电影院看到(多次)泣不成声，爵爷Branagh的半自传电影还真是泪点满满啊，更满的是对Belfast的爱。PS 奥妙yyds

莱德这个新发型还挺帅，喜欢新角色的那种乐观精神，小朋友还是很喜欢的！
叙事视角除了 Buddy 也有大人们的沉重严肃的展现 可是这样全景式的选取就会让每一次 Van Morrison 的柔化 暖心 俏皮的 MV 格外的迷惑 最后的三个群体都致敬果然是个靠时间靠糊弄弥合大团圆结局了 除此之外给演员的表演更是舞台化与特写镜头的叠加 做作而不自知吗 不 Kenneth Branagh 当然是明知而为之 尤其是妈妈的两场台词输出 solo 给了银幕和舞台彩色 电视却是黑白 2333 p.s. 最开始以为那个牧师提及的 good/bad road 岔路画会是 Buddy 内心对当年暴动的映照暗线 结果也是半程没过就丢了 _(:з)∠)_
比起之前的任何大电影都好看3岁小侄子认真看到尾。
配乐很不错，里面出现的电影也很有趣，如果说是以孩子的视角表述这个故事，是很有童趣的，只是里面夹杂了一些很复杂的东西，让这部片子看起来也很复杂。如果只是讲家人之间的情感，同学朋友之间的小故事，邻里之间宗教之争，对于生养之地不想离别之情，这没准会是一部更纯粹好看的电影。
我觉得也没必要特意去踩他一脚，不过真的没什么好说的就是了

画风真不错👍陪伴三个小朋友看的电影她们分别打出一百颗星一千颗星的高分😂
本来只是觉得华而不实，一看评价，竟然之前有将至类比“罗马”的，还好没提前看到，不然这个落差太大了，观感就更一言难尽了。电影讲的是北爱尔兰首府贝尔法斯特的一个街区在宗教对持中的一段景。故事拍得中规中矩，镜头凹气质凹得很足，可惜内容撑不起来，类比罗马除了黑白凹造型镜头，应该也有对童年街区的回忆吧，就这回忆就真的只是回忆，有影像没想法，一切就在面上的那些了。
画质好棒的，狗爪子毛茸茸的好想摸摸，内容也比较积极向上，通过动画对孩子进行积极向上的引导，英雄也会害怕，每个人都需要成长，整场孩子欢笑挺多的
看不出一点水平的电影。明显更像是戴维斯电影的仿作，居然一堆人看成了落马
