柯南伯格难得出山，而且视听和故事把控力还在。道具实感重，破败的后现代风格场地本身就蕴含着许多含义。故事虽后现代，但社会隐喻、探讨议题以及黑色幽默都很明确。

对某一议题的探讨程度总是止于表面，与之而来的是缭绕在音乐和语气语调里的回味感，以及与人物同频的思考过程，从崇拜到惶恐的惊悚感。人类要为自己种下的恶果负责，妄图抗衡或掌控变化不切实际。是未来的寓言，也是当下的警示。

柯南伯格自己可能没接受，没想清怎么讲，对现实人类极限也欠缺了解。他自觉移挪来一些大胆概念，却保守地使用大段对白来解释。可惜，这剥夺了人物和表演的空间，让视听也不够极致。并不是它没有满足我，或者不想满足我，而是它像男主的老泪一样，让我无所适从。
不知道是我欣赏能力降低了还是导演疯了，完全不知所云啊，明明有不错的创意，这就像是新鲜的生蚝生吃很棒，但是我吃的是放坏的生蚝。。。

哇看的我真是不明所以全程满脸肌肉抽搐，可能我还是很难欣赏身体恐怖类型的恐怖片。

想了一晚上好像明白了一些。以身体为承载和索引，一面作为现实隐喻，一面是克服人类中心主义对畅想未来可能的桎梏，尽管没有得出也不会得出答案。先锋却仍具有公共性质的影像在今天变的奇缺无比，居然需要80岁的老法师来锻造。

看得懵……人类为什么会进化，对痛觉的感知为什么变了。是进化还是退化？自我“剖析”还是自残，娱乐至上还是行为艺术？人类应该吃下自己的工业垃圾？痛苦可以和欲望连结：surgery is the new sex，什么进化方向才是正确？我觉得想要探讨的东西很多，但都没表达得太清楚，或者比较开放……
【A】Beautiful，和预期完全是两部作品。最好的柯南伯格之一。
