The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 继大白之后人工智能小白的故事。十分合家欢，小白（Ron）也超可爱，但是很细思极恐——当机器人有了自己的思想之后开始变得不受控。电影给出了一个乐观的结局，认为人和AI会和谐共处，并且AI使得人恢复了实体社交。但是万一不是这样的呢？
