The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 妈妈和爸爸的表演没话说，但是女儿还差点火候。剧情一般，也不喜欢这类剧情。希望电影不要再强行煽情了，也不要再把所有妈妈都刻画成任劳任怨吃苦耐劳的管事婆。
改编之下，所有人物之间的冲突柔和了不少，原本的社会议题被集中在家庭内部的和解，更多的“感动”填补了原本冲突的一部分，于是影片想要“煽情”的目的就表现得很明显了。当然，刻意营造的情绪反差，人物反差，甚至是遗愿清单式的最后的洒脱，都让它煽情很成功。
哭惨了，宝贝呀，妈妈等不了了就开始哭，一生为别人而活。女儿的演技不太行，之前看风犬少年的时候感觉不出戏呀，这里面说舅舅妈妈没时间了那里一下子出戏，又是一个偶像剧够用的演技……不过还年轻，总比啥都没有的那些强，加油！
很工整很规范，该冲突的时候冲突，该煽情的时候煽情，但确实哭不出来。

基调轻松阳光，消解了病痛带来的苦难。也许所有的问题都像猫盖屎一样迎刃而解了
影片中的妈妈是不容易，但全家人除了她其他人都是SB这个设定，也是够抓马的。

这种题材真的不舍的批评，但是又实在是狗血又没意思。

张婧仪这个角色人设太讨人厌了。我要是生了这么个女儿我想掐死她。
徐帆的表演是风格化的，妈妈的人物小传也是特别的，但是剧本非要往妈妈的共通性共情去靠，观感自然撕裂
