The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 挺致郁的，挺简单的一个故事搞得这么复杂
有点悲伤的故事，亲妈都希望复制体活着，本体还是太善良了。
实在get不到这个录像带系列的点，过于无聊，除了人机改造造型还行吧。
还不错，前半段拍的比较无聊，后半段渐入佳境，最后的开放式结局很有意思。讲的故事其实不复杂，体现出一些对人性的探讨。克隆人代替本体生活了一段时间以后，家人们竟然也接受了克隆体，反而一起设计准备杀死本体，也就是说不仅是在社会上，即使是在家庭里，他人需要的也并不是你本身，而是你作为女朋友/女儿这一角色所具体有的一些功能，还挺黑色幽默的。
其实活下来的是谁并无所谓了，她还是她，她也已经变成她了。
难道不是本体杀了克隆，然后假装克隆假装本体吗？
哈哈，結局本體竟然被克隆體反殺，其實在喝克隆體給她的水喝就猜到了⋯⋯
最大的亮点是决斗规则的设计，挺刺激的，但中间太文艺，又内心冲突表达不足，就显得没那么精彩了
自然人，指在自然状态下出生的人。克隆人是否算作自然人，主要取决于克隆人是否建立健全的“自然人意识”。一旦建立，则可拥有自然人的权利。
设定挺有意思，有点黑镜那味儿。但是结尾确实有点反智，直接破坏来前面的长长铺垫，互相防备对方，检查有没有武器，居然能直接喝对方给的水。。。。。。
The Empty Wake>Storm Drain>The Subject>Terror>Holy Hell。低于预期，但原汁原味程度好于上一部Viral，Glitch画面带感（拍灵异视频其实更适合？）。最受大多数观众待见的印尼篇反而是最跑题的，有违94的复古质感，尽管充满视觉刺激但格格不入。
好悲伤的结局，她赢回了人生，却输掉了一切。
开放式结局还不错，但是所有人都面无表情，，看的很尬

刻意，微妙，不自然的表情动作，疏离感，冷嘲。几个反转基本有猜到，最后应该算开放式？
不管是本体死了还是替身死了，结局都细思极恐。这部影片是极度致郁片，让人对生活产生恐惧

看的时候只觉得女主长手长脚真好看 一看果然1.8身高/ 倾向于觉得是本体被毒死了 因为女主训练的时候唯一错过了毒杀 教练说：没事的，你只miss了这一个。这就是一个暗示女主最后会死于毒杀吧
创意是蛮好的，是一个“人”与复制人研究的范本。人作为一个个体，就是想着如何生存。当生命按下暂停键时，我们就会想到永生。另外，生活本身是一地鸡毛，各种问题层出不穷，无力解决。复制人却可以。或者是，复制人是“本我”的一个完美想象。然而，影片还是给出了一个悲观的结局：复制人替代了“本我”。如果从电影艺术本身来看，一般般啦～
说到底，DUAL是一个需要耐心点的类文艺片，而不是所谓的动作巨制。
