The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 当今世上能带来这种不紧不慢不枯燥不放飞的全程沉浸式体验感，恐怕只此丹尼斯一家。PS，银幕上的角色一说起沙虫，我就忍不住回味起上一次吃的沙虫的味道。
Perfect production. 《沙丘》的难度不下《魔戒》，维导做到了。很久以前看过原著，细节忘得差不多了，正好可以重温，并且不会掉进“原著党的执着”。以我的记忆，电影对氛围和设定和人设相当还原。其实只是设定我就可以打五星。甜茶了不起，扛住了这个片，其他各位老戏骨都很好。大爱配乐。Issac Oscar有全裸出镜。
简言之，更适合在魔戒&哈波之间倾向于魔戒的那类观众 aka完美避开路人和文青的G点。
用最多的钱展现了最庸俗的想象力，这不仅是花钱受罪的事了，助长了这种病态的行业现状我有罪。说说接下来的学习计划:1.用整体的思路评价一部烂片 2.中途退场

复盘一下，整片充满了殖民主义的傲慢，公爵，家族，我满脑子都响起了”"王侯将相宁有种乎"的呼喊。
都宇宙飛船了，卻還在用刀劍砍殺。都科幻來臨了，還要靠角斗士一樣的冷兵器決鬥來衡量一個人的能力。所以科技力量是用來當擺設的嗎？全場像是中東石油戰場的太空版，看著場面壯大，音樂催尿，人物穿著像上個世紀歐美的貴族，除了這些故弄玄虛的表象外，實在是沒看出史詩在哪……
万万没想到，扑翼机只要一出来我就忍不住想哭，因为觉得某老师一定会喜欢这种大蜻蜓一样的飞机，一定会抓着我的手摇晃说这个东西太好玩了！旁边的人要是看到我每次看到扑翼机都在抹眼泪估计会觉得这个人有什么问题。
那么老土的王子复仇记套路，用了一个也不是很科技感的未来场景，戴副有颜色的隐形眼镜也能算sci-fi吗？都没有关于未来的概念上的创新。一千零一夜都能骑飞毯啦，8000年后还要靠两人座的直升机，背hiking小背囊…反反复复的slow mo的史诗感也很疲乏。敢不敢让老妈做真正的大boss/the one🤣
我就是个普通观众，如果你觉得自己也是个普通观众，我建议你别上院线看了，两个半小时如果你完整看下来你肯定也会获得和我一样的同款？，电影进行到一个小时才出现一个小高潮，整体看得貌似非常史诗，但是细究起来没有一点精彩实质内容，据说还要拍第二三部，要连起来看才有意思，作为普通观众的我，只想劝另一些同我一样的普通观众，别给自己找难受。科幻里冷兵器打斗+150分钟讲不清楚的超长预告片，真的实打实的困（这只是我个人的感受）
绝对是最神神乎乎的沙丘，没有之一。电影营造的所谓高级感，真没法接受。三颗星全给甜茶，plus 女主真不好看～

汉斯季默配乐再次放飞自我，而且依然很…喧闹高分贝，混音师为了平衡所有声音可以考虑申请加工资了。
不行，太烂了。我真是被忽悠瘸了，这2个多小时太难熬了，剧本烂得一塌糊涂。你不能因为要拍N部让第一部这么不管不顾没有什么情节吧？这简直和张艺谋的某些没有情节只讲究镜头的电影有啥区别，哦，那还是有，毕竟设定还是尼玛全宇宙，而且这OUT的宇宙政治观妈呀还皇帝，就如同我看《K星异客》外星人羡慕地球人有家庭一样可笑和自以为是。一切都是乏善可陈，真是boring到极点，当然很可能原著就是这种披着科幻的皮的专制主义陈旧想法，毕竟这部电影的IP让卢卡斯拍出了《星球大战》，其实如果80年代那会，能让林奇有剪辑权，那一版可能会成为经典，毕竟这种片应该往神秘主义去靠，而不是走什么高大炫酷一味展现视觉冲击力的科幻大片去拍，在家里看也感受不到经费燃烧的炫酷。只有3倍速刚刚好。甜茶为毛这么多人喜欢啊？还不如易烊千玺演技好呢。
维伦纽瓦总是着迷那些在成为神话路上意识到一切都是假象的人物，因此在电影的开头，王子反救世主的角色核心被轻巧抛出，它警告我们一切都是“设计”，都是气氛；然而他却继续冷漠地执行着他法西斯主义巨物迷恋式的场面调度，并由汉斯·季默的“音言”强化其统治（是啊，贝斯，因此我们屈服了，我们忘了在《降临》里那些声音是带有启示性的），泛滥的“闪前”最终露出了骗局的笑容：信任的消逝与未完待续的呼唤，多么美好的一对。
【B】差强人意终究是褒义词。或许正如克拉克所言，与之对应的作品应当是《指环王》，这一奇妙的预言延伸到了影像。维伦纽瓦与杰克逊都分别做出了正确的选择，于是我们见到了这里对大远景与大特写无穷的迷恋：那分别对应着《沙丘》的貌与魂。但面对《沙丘》，维伦纽瓦终究是胆怯的：甚至只有叙事风格的延伸，很难看到在《银翼杀手2049》中、那自信的、青出于蓝的美学表达。维伦纽瓦放弃做一位导演，他屈居于一个导游、同时只能是被好莱坞招安的导游：只有原著中存在的奇观，才能被精准的复原。这使得《沙丘》永无可能超越原著，但谁又能说这不是一个正确的做法的？毕竟《指环王》也直到第三部才达到顶峰，而一次成功的尝试也被我们所见证。毕竟，“It's only the beginning.”
姐妹会的衍生剧可以期待，沙丘影视宇宙还是有大大的希望的。
