The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 想打及格分来着，想想还是打不到及格分，想做社会问题，做得欲言又止，想做任务矛盾，最后也没解决，还是老一套的“毕竟还是一家人嘛，有什么过不去的”，八方不靠的片子
既然是悬疑片，我都做好准备仔细留意细节了，可是影片的逻辑缺乏连贯性，经不起推敲，那么，再复杂立体的剧情和包袱又能怎样挽救它呢？
时间顺序清晰，前后逻辑严谨，没有明显bug，拍摄时注重细节刻画，不速来客很有可能成为10月黑马，多次以天井式的破旧大楼为分割点，分开每一个不同角色的视角，配上带感的bgm，很完整的呈现出一个悬疑片，范伟老师和窦骁的搭配喜剧效果拉满。
基本上是在玩信息不对称。二人组登场之前都还有些意思，圆的也还算合情合理，可是二人组登场后，这TM啥玩意呀，就如同耍观众一样
运动员不易，做残疾运动员更不易，做残疾运动员的妈妈更更不容易。我们除了对苏桦伟的事迹而感动，更应该感谢苏妈的伟大！
最近怎么看的好几部电影都…很别扭的观影体验，就是那种，导演把镜头语言和思想硬塞到我脑里，说，看我是不是很厉害… 而且窦尧这演技我总觉得跟场景格格不入而且很容易用力过度，新一代的黄教主？

看到了一些模仿经典影视剧的痕迹，比如低俗小说。只不过这种低配模仿放到2021年，真的太过时了。

7， 和《扬名立万》一样是小空间小成本电影，就是没有花哨的噱头，相对老套、传统了一些，但表演、完成度和故事节奏都比前者好。这年头大家似乎不喜欢看破败、色调灰暗的悬疑片了。
勉强还成。但主创对网状叙事貌似有什么误会，只是靠不断切换视角、不断回溯、不断提供新信息是远远不够的。结构的组接一定要有“意料之外、情理之中”的惊喜感才可以。
虽然煽情有点多，但是还是很推荐。尤其是苏妈讲的那句，你残疾是天生的，没有人怪你，所有人都是怪我。
看了点映，剧本打磨的非常优秀，在一个房子里发生的故事，每个人出现都有用处，不同角色视角一点点展开信息量，伏笔衔接有时候觉得细思极恐，有时候有喜剧的巧妙达成的高级搞笑，为了不剧透点到为止透露。（这种剧本也超级适合改编成舞台剧啊！）
论演技范伟，张颂文演技一如既往的棒，朱珠也算在线，惊喜是窦骁在戏中的表现。
优先场：进场前就知道大半剧情的类型片，担心的是拍摄手法和表达手法会否煽情过火。没有报什么期望，但有惊喜的，除了演员演得非常好，拍摄剪辑也交代得很好，good👍🏻
国产小成本剧本杀电影，叙述性诡计，倒叙信息差，剧本扎实，窦骁演技不错
多线叙事还是稍显混乱，导演掌控力还是会差些吧。结局其实还是差一层意思，感觉故事拍着拍着总是在结局差那么一口气。
