The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 珍奇的天书被锁在天庭石门之内，分明“天道无私，流传后世”，却被高束庋藏，不欲人知。
里面的小主人公蛋生把天书看了一遍就背下来了，厉害!还有蛋生吃饼的动作也帅呆了。《天书奇谭》情节曲折，实在是扣人心弦啊。
不知道为什么这部评价这么高……而我小时候竟然没看过……不过总的来说还是挺有乐趣的，尤其是后半部分哈~
节奏慢，但慢得不赖，结局有点出乎意料，喜欢
不像大闹和闹海那样有现成的群众基础，天书奇谭采铜山中。上美底子过硬，场景很有古典长卷的美感。人物塑造极其成功，角色虽多，却个个活灵活现。配音也是上译的黄金班底，尚华的县令、毕克的袁公、苏秀的老狐狸都是纤毫毕现。如果非要吹毛求疵，就是整体剧情少了个要表达的主题，缺了点回味。
電影對蝴蝶引起的人物關係變化的稱號描繪很有意思。只是最後那妻子殺死那個「劫匪」很可能是那一句「I don't give a f*k」，但殺死丈夫是為什麼呢？

三个狐狸精的升迁之路几乎就在影射或者揭露这个世界的本质，蠢贪坏几乎是天然孪生三兄弟，在闹剧背后却是正派人的污名与贬斥，「蛋生」本质上只是一个清道夫，或者一个会法术的「看到皇帝新装的小孩」。

镜头感十足。为什么女主干翻全场？因为导演是女主未婚夫。
年轻狐狸精还真美。袁公乃中国的普罗米修斯呵。
不知道大家都记住了什么，我记住了，所谓天庭，高高在上，不管人间疾苦，所谓朝廷，愚昧自私，追求无度的欲望，所谓人类，让妖物登堂入室，指手画脚。只有袁公，不顾上级命令和自身安危，把知识和希望留给了孩子
这是喜剧？小品加一个犯罪片尾？科技大佬的智商严重成问题。
天書法術、狐狸成精、皇帝小兒、奸詐白臉、善惡兩分，完全是中國傳統文化中浸染誕生的動畫。
4K修复版在片尾加了一段纪录短片，才晓得项目源起是BBC递来合拍动画的剧本，上美厂在其基础上重构故事（改编《平妖传》），彻底甩开束缚，往搞怪喜剧的方向制作。人物造型和场景设计一如既往取材自传统绘画，叙事的展开非常松弛且自由，而我最惊讶的还是片子的讽刺力度，对官场、宗教、市民都有丝毫不留情面的批判。在西游记、白蛇传、封神榜风靡市场的当下，动画前辈的艺术观念仍是最超前的，他们用作品诠释着继承与创新。钱运达导演提到的“奇、趣、美”的标准，如今有几部国产动画真正达到了呢？把哪吒和赛博朋克结合、把青蛇扔到现代都市，只是画虎不成反类犬，真正的现代性在于反叛精神，《大闹天宫》《哪吒闹海》的立意远未被超越。
啥时演，啥时必看的动画片，咱们啥时还有如此经典的国产动画片可以无限回味~~~
在那个物质最匮乏的年代里，这些最可敬、可爱、才华横溢的动画艺术家们创作出了最杰出的文艺作品。也许当时的人们身体是空虚的，但他们的精神却绝不像今天我们这一代人一般饥饿。
算是小时候最喜欢的。刚重温一遍，却觉得没意思了。发现再美好的回忆，如果不经过自己重新组装和粉饰，也会索然无味。
