The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 似乎是最好的结局了，两条故事线并行，默片与有声电影的碰撞，都在唐顿庄园里进行，老妇人的传位，崭新的时代也在到来
作为续集，这一部唐顿没有让观众的视听淹没在庞杂的人物关系线中，主线清晰，所传达的爱与传承的主旨也得很明了。甚至能让我们带着笑声读懂和品味其中或小或大的细枝末节。
关于贵族尊严，生死无常，以及娱乐至上的新时代，英国优质影片的派头
刚打开想要评论，看到520上映，出现在冷门佳片榜，这或许就是一个时代逝去的声音吧。最后充满英国式的幽默，“安静点吧，我快听不见我死去的声音了。”我最爱的大表姐，我最爱的老夫人，时代变迁，新老交迭，唐顿也带着它的新过去向时间远处走去。
永远不会让人失望的唐顿庄园，把往事装进抽屉里，珍惜每一个当下。
之前没有接触过的IP。影片以一场婚礼开始结束于一场葬礼，循环往复一如唐顿庄园的兴衰。人物众多，故事线却很清晰，老钱和新贵间的碰撞很有趣味。服化道场景制作精良，不过剧情过于平白稍显沉闷。
以婚礼开始，以葬礼结束。从无声电影到有声电影的转变，以及老奶奶的离世，都呼应了标题，唐顿庄园的new era的开始。
希望美好的事物永不终结，但是世界上毕竟不会有这种事，我们只能享受乐在其中的一段时间，这就是生活。
纯粉丝向电影，对新观众来讲就是冗长平淡乏味的两个小时。
英式幽默让人会心一笑。从第一部刷到叠第二部，演员也变了不少
唐顿庄园，静远流深。
旧时代的英国贵族生活，其实中国人理解起来略微有点割裂，贵族和仆人身份悬殊，但又有点相敬如宾，仆人们在楼下自己的餐厅吃饭座位又和贵族们极其相似。哎，都是天生的，生来是贵族就啥也不用干享福，生来是仆人就勤恳工作老老实实。另外不是很理解为啥英剧这么喜欢表现同性恋，比例有那么高吗
情节生硬，没什么说服力，完全是在为情怀买单。
看最后交代众人结局时意识到就Thomas的情节全被删了，搞得我一个人在影院一边哭一边气一边笑。唐顿众人的逻辑就是家好我也好，对传承的认同感太高以至于其他什么都可以让步，从剧看到两部电影都会在对比里觉察到自己精神的无根状态，不过说不上好也说不上坏，毕竟生活在这里指望去认同啥，一个连1920s几分钟男同情节都要删得一干二净的意识体吗？那未免太好笑了。
我个人十分喜欢本次故事中融入的电影元素，无论是对默片时代的致敬，还是对上世纪片场工作的种种还原，都能让影迷感到一种通过将艺术形式融入作品内容而表达出的谦逊态度。作为这个故事可能的终章，本作纵然在故事结构与制作上都有偷工减料之嫌，但其长久坚持的对于历史的态度——以人与情为本也足以为它赢得一份喝彩
有人重操旧业成为唐顿历史的一部分，
出场人物不少，每个都有自己的特点。服饰、发饰都十分精致。尤其室内的装饰，很奢华，很英伦。
以一场婚礼开场，以一场葬礼落幕，确实非常英国。英国人真的是对婚礼葬礼可太有执念了，顺便感慨一句距离第一季开播竟然已经过去12年了。
人事来来往往，唐顿庄园依然屹立在那里。一个时代就这样落幕了。
