电影的色调基本上和画家笔下的猫咪画一致，前期充满了温情梦幻的色彩，后期走向混乱，最后又归于平静。本尼太擅长表演这种神经质的、对现实适应无能的角色了，养猫人又有另一种共鸣。事件选取和表达手法其实挺不错的，作为一部人物传记片，很贴近画家的精神世界了。
