The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 封神倒也不至于，但的确网大能有这个制作水平让人意外而惊喜。从头到尾都能感觉到主创对电影的尊重，对游戏的尊重。游戏画面用电影语言解构的段落非常好，就算没打过吃鸡也很好懂。整个片子其实就是一个合格的商业故事片，只是国内这种类型也并没有做得非常成熟，这一部才显得尤为惊喜吧。
莫名很喜欢安东尼奥，爱情观跟我不说一样也是十分相似了，两个人有话不明说以为对方会理解的真的是折磨人，西条以为自己是为了跟准太在一起才做这些，准太哪里get到只以为自己又要被抛弃，这种惰于沟通的恋爱方式真的是害人不浅啊，西条还要被人点醒才去向准太表明心意，真的这种剧情看多了有点累了，相反安东尼奥的少年失恋毫不避讳，热情浓烈，是我喜欢的风格，加了点制片人的副cp的剧情，可是也忒少了吧，没头没尾的。
如果不会做舞蹈画面，很简单，那就别出舞蹈主题啊！！！什么玩意儿，敷衍得很。好消息是美术好了一丢丢，黑线阴影没了，坏消息是剧情还是一样得拉🥲童年好友一上来就对男主各种insulting，准太管都不管… 极度厌恶这种类似于雌竞的桥段。
快结束的时候那个抱抱和摸摸头治愈了我😢。在身体和经济都最窘迫的状态下遇到你，我看不起自己，不喜欢自己，但是我喜欢你，这很幸运也很不幸。我把自己藏起来，不想让你看到我的挣扎和无奈。而当我鼓起勇气袒露自己的不堪，你抱抱我，说没关系，没关系，呜呜。真会有这种好人吗😢。

I must be old. 为这类青少年爱情落泪已经很久不是我的风格了，但，，，大概就是这样吧，剧情流畅，人设饱满，主人公很糟糕很脆弱又很勇敢很可爱，所以也遇上了很好的人吧。爱情啊，真是年轻人最好的解药，仿佛一切都可以被治愈，一切都可以被暂时放下，先去爱吧！女通讯录青春片就请这样简简单单地拍好吗！
闸机入泳池转场好看.ADHD配恋爱悸动.视听比较合节奏，熟练细腻，略油，不含蓄，主观.站位+手持等暗示做情绪.主观视觉诱导过于直白.点题非常生硬.
4看到结尾一度想哭 真是不错的片子

很期待剧场版～ 整体来说还好，想让大家看到的应该是都展现出来了…… 但剧情相对太弱了些，套路还是那些，看多了确实也就没太大意思…… 总体就是看完也就看完了的状态！ PS： 没有了死亡阴影真的是舒服了太多好咩！！😗

啊，抱胁剧场版，顺便点进剧版词条，距离看完剧版已经过去三年半，下巴阴影都不见了啊！也就看个热闹吧，情怀完全说不上，作画也透露着贫穷，讲道理这隔靴挠痒的肉渣还不如没有。
