二战影片浩如烟海，如此片关注二战将临前的那段时期的不多，尤其是关于英德之间签订慕尼黑协义的，更是少见。此片胜在题材新鲜。它采用了历史与虚构相结合的手法，影片似在为张伯伦的绥靖政策翻案。似乎关注点太多，未能聚焦于一点，如《奥斯陆协议》那样，更有一种焦灼感与历史现场感。在演员选择上，两个主角都似乎有些游离。最差的是影片开头，如此重大历史事件，却像是青春校园片一样，很不吸引人。
